About Minskip
Minskip is a pretty ribbon village close to the market town of Boroughbridge and with good road access to Knaresborough, Harrogate, Ripon, York and Leeds. However, when you scratch the surface, you uncover a traditional village, where some residents have lived all their lives and others only a matter of months.
Unlike some villages that are dormant during working hours, Minskip is a thriving working village during the day. A diverse group of businesses operate out of Minskip including a pub, a farm shop, farming, haulage, engineering, tradesmen, gas engineers, builders and a garage to name a few and all this in a small village of more than 120 houses and 250+ residents.
Situated in such a beautiful rural area, the rhythms of nature are apparent all around. Frosty winter nights bring a sky that is jet black with brightly sparkling stars. Ploughing and sowing in surrounding fields, birds nesting in the hedgerows and the arrival of swallows in spring. Deer silently feeding in fields, crops swaying in the warm summer breeze, the sound of the combine harvester and with straw blowing along Main Street in the autumn, these seasonal changes are a backdrop to everyday life in Minskip.
Minskip is also home to a few special four-legged residents, who can often be seen grazing happily in the fields (and gardens!) around Minskip. So don't forget to say hello the next time you're passing - you may be treated to...well, probably a placid gaze, but you never know!
